Bio

Anne Thebo is an interdisciplinary research scientist and hydrologist with the Climate Impacts Group. Her work and interests center on characterizing water-related impacts of climate change and supporting communities and policymakers in the development of climate-resilient water systems. A central theme across Anne’s research is the identification and evaluation of strategies for addressing water quantity and quality challenges spanning the urban and agricultural sectors. Prior to joining the Climate Impacts Group, Anne was a senior researcher at the Pacific Institute where her work combined synthesis research and stakeholder engagement with various analytical approaches to assess opportunities, benefits and tradeoffs of water and climate resilience strategies such as alternative water supplies, water use efficiency and stormwater management approaches. Her past work as a consulting water resources engineer included watershed planning, green infrastructure, and water sanitation and hygiene in the U.S. and abroad. Anne holds a Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, M.S. in environmental engineering from Stanford University, and B.S. degrees in civil engineering and environmental science from Ohio State University.
