Request for Qualifications: Seeking artist for commissioned piece on climate resilience

Call Summary

The University of Washington Climate Impacts Group is seeking qualifications for a two-dimensional visual art piece depicting climate resilience in the Northwest. This call is open to emerging artists located in the Northwestern United States. We define emerging artists as artists who have not received a commission greater than $10,000 or do not have commercial gallery representation.

Applications are due Monday, February 22. The selected artist will be announced in late March. The selected artist must complete their work by June 30, 2021, and present their work at a celebration for the Climate Impacts Group’s 25th anniversary at the end of June or in early July (exact date to be determined). 

NW CASC 2021-2022 Research Fellowship Program Request for Proposals

The NW CASC is accepting proposals for their 2021-22 Research Fellowship Program through March 15, 2021. This program supports research related to climate adaptation in Northwest natural and cultural resource management and training in the principles and practices of developing decision-relevant science during the 2021-2022 academic year. We’re Hiring! Apply to join our team as a research scientist

We are hiring an entry-level research scientist to provide social science/policy research support and logistical project management support to our team. We are seeking a candidate with a social science or policy background and project management experience who can add breadth to the work we do and support CIG’s senior researchers on climate change adaptation projects with our federal, tribal, state and local partners. Core job responsibilities will include:  

Research Support: This position will be responsible for thinking critically about, and doing research to support, the application of a social science or policy lens to projects led by the CIG’s senior research scientists.
